Yvanna Todorova, PhD

Dr. Yvanna Todorova graduated from King’s College London with a BSc in Nutrition Science. She went on to earn a PhD in Environmental Health from Loughborough University, UK where she studied the psychophysiological impacts of nature-based interventions. In her project titled, “Experimental investigation of the influence of acute nature exposure on psychological and physiological health,” she developed single visit forest bathing interventions and tested their influence on stress, mood, eating behavior, endurance performance, immunity, cognitive function and work satisfaction. Dr. Todorova continued her research development leading NIH funded evaluations of public health interventions across the UK. In that research associate role, Dr. Todorova applied implementation frameworks to evaluate delivery and outcomes of mental health and physical activity interventions in a real-world setting. Her primary research interests focus on the intersection of mindfulness interventions and natural environments to better support patient outcomes in healthcare settings.
