Marissa Salvaterra, MS

RESEARCH COORDINATOR I

Marissa has recently returned to the Cleveland Clinic as a Research Coordinator after working part-time as a Research Assistant at the Lerner Research Institute in 2021. In her previous role, she worked as a Behavioral Health Specialist at The Emily Program in Cleveland, facilitating CBT and mindfulness-based groups as well as providing meal support and coaching to adults living with eating disorders. Marissa currently holds a Master of Science in Global Mental Health and Society from The University of Edinburgh. Her final thesis focused on investigating how expressive writing (especially poetry) may contribute to our sense of wellbeing by conducting a series of research interviews across Scotland. She also achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with minor concentrations in Public Health and Spanish from Case Western Reserve University. Her interest in helping individuals and communities cultivate wellbeing through means beyond existing biomedical approaches is what makes her excited to come to work each day. Outside of her role, Marissa enjoys writing and producing music, baking, learning new arts and crafts, and she is actively studying to become a board-certified health and wellness coach.
